From Corporate to Cielo: Why I made the Shift

I’ve had an entrepreneurial mindset for as long as I can remember — constantly seeking to build, improve, refine, and bring out the best in the people and work around me.

Whether it’s developing an innovative solution, optimizing a process, reworking a strategy, or helping a peer think through a challenge, I’ve always believed there’s value in stepping back and seeing things from multiple perspectives.

Becoming a father only sharpened that lens—reminding me that growth isn’t just about speed, it’s about intention. I’m naturally wired to spot patterns, ask the right questions, and connect strategy to execution — skills that have been key across my career and now sit at the core of how I support growing businesses.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve worked across the full spectrum of business—from public accounting and large, publicly traded healthcare groups to PE-backed companies, founder-led startups, and mid-market multi-location organizations. I’ve worn the hats of CFO, M&A leader, finance operator, and business consultant. What that gave me — beyond titles and technical expertise — was perspective. Real, earned perspective that comes from being in the room during critical decisions, chaotic transitions, and major inflection points.

Over the last two years, I’ve taken everything I’ve learned and applied it on the ground — consulting directly with founders, diving into the real challenges of small business ownership, and immersing myself in the unique rhythm of this space. It’s also been a season of personal growth — stepping into fatherhood, re-evaluating what success looks like, and ultimately, building Cielo Synergies into what it is today. This transition wasn’t just a professional pivot — it was a reset that brought deeper clarity to the kind of partner I want to be and the value I bring to the table.

Why I started Cielo

They haven’t had exposure to corporate best practices, varied business stages, structures, cross-functional leadership, private equity playbooks, or the kind of strategic financial frameworks and perspectives that come from navigating real-world complexity.

And frankly, the resources that do exist often feel overly rigid, disconnected, or out of reach.

What I’ve seen time and again is this: business owners in the small to mid-size space have built something real —often through grit, instinct, and hard work —
